Combined aerobic + resistance (strength) training vs non-exercise control

Findings

Combined aerobic and resistance training reduced systolic blood pressure by 6.4 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 3.7 mmHg versus a non-exercise control, in people with hypertension.

Systolic and diastolic blood pressure change from baseline

Limitations

Heterogeneous protocols and BP measurement methods; mostly small trials; medication use varies; meta-regression is observational and exploratory.
